I JUST NEED A SMALL BUSINESS WEBSITE!

The first time I visit or speak with most potential small business clients about a new website or discuss their existing website, I have the same experience. They patiently listen to me introduce myself and let me describe how I can help them. At this moment there is brief silence where I know they are thinking, 'I really just need a website'.

HOW MUCH WILL MY SMALL BUSINESS WEBSITE COST?  HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE?

Usually before anyone is willing to really let me know what they are looking for and what they hope to gain by having a new or redesigned website I know two questions need to be answered. How much will it cost? How long will it take? From my perspective these questions are very hard to provide an answers for with little or no information, but I'm glad to answer it right here and now!

In my experience a small business website will cost at least $500 and will take a minimum of 2 week to complete.

My approach for small business websites is simple. Many of my clients are referrals, my clients recommend me just like they would a good mechanic to a friend that they know will take care of them and not over charge. So like a good mechanic I always only do what is needed and make recommendations on things that should be done.

WHAT CAN I EXPECT?

At a minimum by the end of our engagement you will have what I call the 6 web basics:

DOMAIN
A domain name that you own. Its very important to own your own domain name, after all this is part of your brand.
WEB PRESENCE
A website you can be proud to direct your customers to. Including how to find you, contact information, details about your products & services and a call to action (plus more).
COMMUNICATIONS
At least one email address branded with your website domain and connectors for social media on your website.
SEO & MOBILE OPTIMIZED
Your site will be built with search engine optimization in mind and accessible by mobile devices.
SELF SUFFICIENCY
Training on how your website works and how to make basic changes on your own whenever you want.
A PLAN FOR THE FUTURE
Your website is part of your marketing strategy, it will change as the market dictates and as your business grows. You will have a plan to ensure your website can meet your needs in the future.

WHAT IS EXPECTED OF ME AS A CLIENT?

You know what your small business is about. The majority of the website's content will need to come from you. Many of my clients already have most of the language or copyrighting that describes their  business laying around in business plans, marketing material,  an existing website or in their head just waiting to have a website to publish it to. Any content that needs to be developed can be done in a casual questions and answer format.  My job is to ask the right questions, structure the content and figure out how to present it on the site. Websites are living pieces of your marketing strategy; over time the content will change and grow.  I will provide you with the initial website and the tools to make these changes yourself.  If you need help after the site is up and running we are here for that as well for one time engagements or on monthly retainer.
